History and background of Jil Sander
Jil Sander is a native German designer who is reputable for her sophisticated and well cut designs. She was born in Germany in 1943 and first debuted her fashions in 1973. Although her initial designs were not then well received, she became popular in the 80’s for her simple, classy and elegant clothes.
Jil Sander does most of her business in women's clothing, although she has accessories and perfume lines. Jil Sander is known for her the use of wildly expensive fabrics and manufacturing methods that leave items like simply cut lightweight sweaters costing much higher than other designer collection. Her style has been described as "luxurious minimalism."
