In 1887 Establishment of Tokyo Cotton Trading Company (Kanegafuchi, Tokyo) on May 6 - anniversary of Kanebo's founding. In 1889 Cotton spinning factory started its operations. IN 1893 Company renamed as Kanegafuchi Spinning Co., Ltd. In 1905 weaving operations started. IN 1908 spun silk business started. IN 1919 the establishment of a factory in Shanghai, China. In 1921 Raw silk spinning operations started. In 1934 wool, synthetic fibers, and hemp spinning businesses started. In 1939 the Invention of “Kanebian” Japan’s first synthetic fiber. In 1955 Establishment of a subsidiary in Brazil (Fiação e Tecelagem Kanebo do Brasil S.A.). In 1963 Nylon business started. In 1969 polyester filament business started. In 1970 acrylic business started. In 1970 the company renamed as Kanebo, Ltd. In 1972 Polyester filament production started at Hokuriku Plant. In 1982 Establishment of Nagahama Plant for integrated finishing. In 1996 Reorganization of textiles division; establishment of Kanebo Textile, Ltd., Kanebo Wool, Ltd., and Kanebo Gohsen, Ltd. In 1997 Merger of Kanebo Textile, Ltd. and Kanebo Wool, Ltd. to establish Kanebo Spinning Corporation.
