I used this fragrance years ago, and remember it fondly. The only difference I notice is the sweetness level. This seems higher , but perhaps it's just me. Delicious perfume nonetheless!

I was given a gift of Quartz back in 1977 when it first came out, by a French colleaguee, I found I could purchase it from Selfridge's, that source dried up, and I could only buy it in France on a shopping trip, after a fee years I couldn't get it there either, I was so happy when I found it on Fragrance X, I have worn it daily now for 47 years, it suits my skin perfectly, nothing I have tried comes anywhere close for me!

Green chypre
I would describe this as a green chypre. My nose smells something like a slightly bitter citrus at the top. It is balanced out with an almost sweet licorice underneath. This could also be the patchouli. Gorgeous....so well combined making an interesting interplay between sharp and sweet. This is a timeless fragrance. It has a fresh aliveness to it with a woody sweetness in the background to give it depth. Moderate projection and lasting power. This is safe to wear in an office. I am wearing it on a cold day and it is lovely.

I have applied this fragrance several times, but it vanishes before I have a chance to judge it! It appears slightly sweet at first, then....nothing! Perhaps it's my chemistry, so I would say maybe it's lovely on someone else. Just give it a try.

For years I have been looking for a perfume to love as much as Balenciaga's Quadrille which is no longer made or available. Multifaceted, long-lasting
I tried this fragrance years ago, and woke up in the middle of the night remembering it! I think that possibly Molyneux has changed the element slightly, but I believe the change is because I'm now using the EDP, when before I was using the EDT. This is a LASTING FRAGRANCE! It doesn't belong in any one category. It's clean yet has a strong crystalline quality, and gives the impression that the fragrance is part of one's own body aroma, which is very nice! It is nice from start to finish, though it deepens on me with time, and therefore is perfect for day and evening. I venture that the EDT is better for summer, and the EDP perfect for winter. And this being a Molyneux fragrance, it's GREAT value for money!!!

I have known this fragrance since its first release. I purchased it as a gift for a nice friend. She was delighted and used it again and again. Curious by her being so happy with it, I tried it myself and also loved it. As I am not a very loyal perfume-user I forgot it for several years. Until now : I gave it a new try and do not regret it! Though it seemed to have changed a little (or is it my memory ....?) I still find it a clear "gem" as the name speaks for itself...

A gift for a friend - it smells amazing on her and it could easily beat any Chanel, fresh, warm, full, soothing flowery fragrance. It doesn't suit to me, alas - the fragrance is very sensitive to the skin type. So sample before you buy, it's essential.
