Pierre Balmain is a fashion designer from France who was known for developing opulent designs. Although Balmain initially studied architecture, he soon realized he had a passion for fashion and began working for Molyneux. At the end of World War Ii, he was ready to start his own fashion brand, and his fashion quickly caught on with post-war sensibilities. He designed many dresses and evening gowns, and his work even earned him a Drama Desk award.
Balmain Ambre Gris perfume comes in a cube-shaped flacon featuring a gold topper. The scent profile was designed by Guillaume Flavigny. He is an experienced perfumer with a background in chemistry who has studied at Isipca and the Givaudan School of Perfumery. All products are original, authentic name brands. Ambre Gris is such a wonderful smell. It is clean and fresh, powdery. It lasts a long time. I use it day and night. I never want to run out so I usually buy two bottles at a time!! FragranceX is where I get most of my perfumes from. The service is fast and efficient. All of the perfumes smell like they are supposed to, meaning they are the real deal.

Elegant Hippie Chic
I was visiting a friend who shared Ambergris with me. The bottle is very pretty including the charming disco ball cap. Ambergris is a beautiful scent. It is fairly strong when first applied but within an hour the scent softens into a gorgeous sort of sweet dry scent. My skin eats perfume but this one lasts on me for several hours. I will buy again. Love it!

Balmain Ambre Gris Perfume..Sweet Nectar
Amber Gris by Balmain is quite the unique EdP. It is an Oriental, musky, woody, balsamic fragrance. What really makes this perfume stand out is the fact that the grey amber(ambergris) is quite predominant from the top, middle and base of its perfume pyramid..it is the scent of sweet nectar essence, though not a cloying sugary, fruity or candy smell. It is an expensive scent since ambergris is quite a rare and valuable commodity used as an ingredient in creating expensive and beautiful perfumes. So Amber Gris is sophisticated and unique. You will definately stand out in a crowd wearing this, receive compliments and asked what perfume you are wearing. It is also a unisex fragrance, a sweet nectar made for a beautiful woman and a confident and distinguished man.

this perfume is perfectly design. from the first smell, notes start playing in amazing harmony. long lasting particularly on the wool clothes. the base note of this perfume let you feel you have lived with it for years. i will wear this perfume again and again and it will be one of my favorites collection.

mysteriously deep sensual smell
I was firstly captured by the beauty of the bottle.Then that deep smell followed. Although it is a hot summer in Greece, this perfume does seem to underline my natural smell, emphasising the intensity and passion from within. Lust!!

One of Balmain's Best perfumes!
Very elegant and sophisticated fragrance. The bottle design and potion are full of luxury. It's a gentle powdery perfume, don't expect anything overpowering. Last's quite long (especially on clothes). Amber note mixed very well with other ingredient's. It's not old-fashion at all! Highly recommended. Good job Balmain!

Lovely amber
Soft, subtle, sophisticated --- this scent is the opposite of most current fragrances for women. Very pretty amber perfume, much more wearable than many other ambers. The bottle is also exquisite, a big heavy Art Deco-like piece. Lovely!

My favorite amber perfume
I love putting on Ambre Gris. There is something squeaky clean about it. I smells good on hot skin in the summer, like your favorite sun tan lotion, but of course much better and more refined. You can also start with Ambre Gris, and after a few hours layer another scent over it, which has an amber note, and that amber note will be reinforced. Delicious.

I would buy this product again
this is a perfect fall/winter scent, it is spicy, but not too spicy. It starts out sweet then becomes spicy, then the flowers in the the heart take over. At last it, becomes warm and ambery and the lasting power is great. I love this fragrance.
