Italian fashion designer Mariella Burani released her first fragrance in 1993. She was educated to become a primary school teacher but decided to pursue fashion after her marriage to the general manager of Burani Garment Group. Inspired by her earlier desire to work with children, she designed collections of children’s clothes in the 1960s and 1970s, after which she became head of fashion design for the company.
