History and background of Lanvin. Founded in 1889 at 22, Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré by Jeanne Lanvin (Paris 1867 - 1946), Lanvin is the oldest Parisian fashion house. This is a very pedestrian oriental fragrance. It does have tremendous staying power. It is very sweet and not as dry as other orientals--Cartier Pasha comes to mind. I would choose Pasha over this one, unless you are a fan of pepper which sits on top of this fragrance and gives it a great start before it settles down to the typical oriental.
