Geoffrey Been was founded in 1963 by the fashion designer of the same name. It is part of the Elizabeth Arden group. The first fragrance this brand created was Grey Flannel for men, launched in 1975. The second fragrance, called Bowling Green, was released in 1986. These fragrances were a chance for people who could not afford the cost of the high-end clothing to own a product from this popular brand. All products are original, authentic name brands. Oh, this is good. This is real good.
Spray the amount you feel like having. Go nuts. This scent is incredible. I used to wear Grey Flannel a lot but now that I have found this...I can't wait to wear it. It is fantastic. Smells like a bit of irish spring soap with a little pine. Such a fresh and clean foresty smell. Oh so good. It is uber long lasting at 12hr+. Projection is good and as it slowly dissipates it projects less. In other words projection is good for the first 4 hours then it cools off some and forms a nice bubble around you. Sillage is good. If you are working hard and your body heats up it will begin projecting well again. Great for office or anywhere. Is not over-bearing or cloying. Worth the buy and a super nice surprise as a blind buy.

Sadly, this is not the original scent from the 80s but a knock off duplicate that doesn't smell nearly as good.

Love this vintage cologne
I had a friend bring this back from America in the 1980's because I'd heard of it but it was difficult to buy in Britain at the time. I am a big fan of Geoffrey Beene's Grey Flannel and I wanted something different. I do not like to smell like every other man and this smell suits me. I wear it every day during the day and it draws compliments and positive comments. It is not too heavy but you can still smell it in a positive way.

A good aroma that many don't recognise
I had someone bring this back from America in the early 80's because it wasn't easy to get in this country. It is still a good classic aroma that I will carry on using. I should say I don't like to smell like every other man in the room so I search out niche or forgotten colognes on fragrancex

IT'S OKAY BUT....
WHEN I HAD HEARD THAT BOWLING GREEN WAS NO LONGER IN MARKET I WAS SURPRISE. ONE OF THE BEST FRAGRANCE I HAVE EVER WORN, NOW TO WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT FRAGRANCEX HAD IT I BOUGHT TWO BOTTLES. BUT YET I WAS KIND OF DISAPPOINTED, WHY? THE COLORING OF THE FRAGRANCE WAS NOT THE SAME(IT WAS A LIGHTER COLOR)COMPARED TO THE ONE I HAD PURCHASED LAST YEAR FROM ANOTHER STORE,I STARTED TO WONDER IF THIS WAS A KNOCKOFF VERSION.. YOU CAN'T BE TOO CAREFUL.

I have used this product for many years and was disappointed when it went off market and I had to find something else. Now it is back in stock, and for me, there is no other cologne. Thank you Geoffrey Beene.

I would buy this product again and again
My husband wore Grey Flannel all the time but the scent is way to powdery so we switched to Bowling Green and found we both liked it much more. We ordered it twice from this site and the first bottle was great but the second bottle smelled so different ...maybe it was old ? We have been since trying to order more, but SIX months have past with me on waiting list and it seems to continuously be "out if stock". I cannot find it anywhere. This has become extremely frustrating !!

Unique Fragrance, Perfect Service
The fragrance is unique. I ordered two shipments, the first one was great, so I ordered another one. The other shipment smells different, as if it were exposed to heat or very old, I dont know but it smelled not as expected.

Is Bowling Green back?
Bowling green cologne has been away for quite a while. I have used this product for over thirty years and always got compliments on it. Recently, it has become available again, though only in one ounce sprayers. Hopefully, the four ounce bottles will be available soon. I haven't been able to find anything comparable to this great scent.

Bring back the 4 oz spray
This product draws compliments from everyone young and old. There is no similar product on the market. If you want to smell good and not like all the others. This is it. However. they have stopped producing the larger spray and they will not reply to my emails. I am afraid they will discontinue it.

I bought it for my son, and male relatives, my brother in law just loves the scent, but couldn't find it. So I sent him a bottle, and he, asked where I had found it again.I had given him a bottle for Christmas some time back. He was real glad to get another bottle.
