Very Disappointing shopping experience!!
Long lasting, dark scent
I'm suprised at the reviews saying it doesnt last. I found mine lasted a very very long time. its a very interesting dark, spooky woody scent. Its very somber to me but I really like it. they were sold out of the feminine one but I feel this ones sort of unisex? Definitely don't spray too much, it might be a little nauseating.

Woody Velviteir Green Notes dominate. 8-9 hours performance. Can be an office wear due to lack of amber/sweet notes. It could work year round,but go easy on the sprays in the Summer or give the Sport version a try.

Gorgeous smoky vetiver
I've had this on my try it list for ages- I wish I'd gotten it sooner! Smoky and mysterious but with a clean finish- lasts and lasts, beautiful sillage. Definitely a classic, I can't recommend this enough.

Great reference for a woody scent
Smells like a dark dark ink which represents the dark woody category. Best for a cool evening use only and need to dress up when using this. Manly but not that sexy for a date scent. Lasted around five hours on skin and great sillage as well.

I can totally say that the cologne is not fake! Smells awesome, with a real masculine vibe. The only other cologne that I know smells the same is Chanel Sycomore, which costs a fortune. The only downside is I wish Encre Noir lasted longer.

A good blind buy. Love its unique scent!
It's a blind buy after watching out numerous reviews, all of which appreciate its dark but not heavy forestry smell. Not pricey at all for its unique woody and earthy aroma, and a bit smell like traditional black ink. I would definitely wear Encre Noire in fall/winter, or with formal suits, or at special occasion like boardroom business meetings. It lifted up authority and confidence in negotiating deals. This not-too-heavy woody scent definitely adds weight on slim gentleman like me. Highly recommended for professionals and men who love authority.

Fantastic fragrance! Has a very fresh, cold, wet pine smell. Damp moss with light arboreal musk accompany the smell of late Spring rain. One of my favorites and definitely worthy of being crowned a signature scent. This is a daytime spring and summer scent to me while the Extreme EDP version of this is perfect for Fall and cloudy winter days.

Evokes a sense of classiness without being staid
Encre Noir smells as James Bond might after chasing a minor villain through a forest in south east Asia. The vetiver adds verve to the heaviness of the cypress and musk so that the scent doesn't become so dense as to deaden the woody effect. The fragrance evokes a sense of maturity without being stuffy, and classiness without being staid. A little too heavy for summer but great for the rest of the year.

Different, not in a bad way...
This fragrance is for someone wanting to walk on the edge! It has an acquired scent to it. It just wasn't for me. But I do not count out me trying it in the future. A LEATHERY scent, BOLD!!! Very bold fragrance. I didn't answer the "would I recommend" section because this isn't a scent for everyone!!!
