Guillaume Flavigny is the perfumer who developed the composition for In Black cologne. Flavigny initially studied chemistry, but he soon found a passion for perfumery. good smell
Smells like terre dhermes but projection and sillage is not the same good fragrance overall One thing is sure this is not perfume it is not strong à all

Byblos In Black...Anytime...Anywhere....
Byblos In Black by Byblos is a great EdP. It's a nice change from the typical summer all-citrus scent, even though this perfume has citrus notes like grapefruit & neroli they only act in supporting roles though compliments the fragrance as a whole. What gives this perfume the kick is the pepper note, vetiver and cedar which makes this very masculine and smooth. The resins, sweet notes and tonka beans act as the base for a smooth beautiful drydown. This will be a classic scent IMO as the years go by, very pleasant and I wear this almost everyday since the day I had it delivered to me!

Very Elegant!
The only one cons that it's not strong enough for being Eau de Parfume! Some mentioned it's similarity to Terre d'Hermes, but it's not a copy. "In Black" has it's own character. It's very elegant and not too sweet. I detected gentle citrus with pepper in the beginning, later its getting some sweet notes with Tonka beans. Resin and benzoin keep it warmer but not overwhelming. This fragrance is -fresh oriental- (imho) and its great for daily / office use too. Highly recommended! :) Great value for its price.

a very pleasant surprise
This fragrance is a combination of older manly scents and contemporary sweeter scents. Grapefruit and pepper are quite obvious and as time goes by the scent develops. I think it's a fragrance with great balance. Definately one of the best scents I' ve experienced for a long time now
