Jacques Fath was a French fashion designer who was popular during the 1940s and 1950s. He debuted his first haute couture collection in 1937, and quickly became well known for his Parisian chic designs, often made of unique materials. Fath was the mentor for several French designers who went on to achieve great success, such as Givenchy, Laroche and Valentino. After the designer’s death in 1953, the company began to manufacture perfumes and accessories instead of haute couture. Its first fragrance was released in 1953.
