Infused with elemental puissance
Yatagan, a fragrance so infused with elemental puissance that it can turn boys into men, and men into bears. The woody green opening is bracing and nearly overwhelming but soon settles down to reveal the bitter oakmoss and minty patchouli. The musky and animalic notes in the dry down add depth and compliment the earlier sharpness of the pine and galbanum. A stunning fragrance years ahead of its time that served as a touchstone for later woody spicy masculines. Too strong perhaps for the office but ideal when communing with mother nature.

Good sharp, non floral, musky, woodland scent
I puts me in mind of Jesus del Pozo's Arabian Nights, having the same pungent, oriental quality about it. You don't want to over do it and knock everybody out, it's strong, it's masculine, the girls notice. I suspect it varies from skin to skin, when I first time I gave myself a squirt with it, I thought it too sweet. An hour later and its sharp, bitter scent emerged, it's not at all poncy, you could wear it in your stuffy old club or slap it on after you've been out for a gallop on your horse. It has a sophisticated aroma, is definitely not at all feminine with flowery edges as so many male scents have making them useless for men. It's a very good price from FrangranceX, I've seen this kit sell at over £100 a pot. One for the boys for sure, too animally for a girl, unless, like Napoleon, you prefer them unwashed - a comment he was said to have made to Jospehine for those who wonder what that was about. It's an unusual aroma, you don't smell this all over the place, it's for real blokes and not for barbie-doll look-alikes with their earrings and tee shirts. Definitely for the check-shirt chuck lumps of wood about bloke who doesn't take any hostages.

A Woody Earthy Masterpiece!
I blind-bought this fragrance and I'm so glad I did. I've read a ton of reviews both here on Fragrantica and from YouTube fragrance channels. I waited a while to get this one, and even though I had read and watched many reviews, I still don't think I was ready for what I smelled. I love this fragrance from Caron and there's a lot going on. It's woody, aromatic, green, herbal, spicy and smoky. There are to many notes to list, and the notes that stay in the dry-down come together perfectly. I can smell patchouli, incense, oak moss and basil the most. It's like hiking east Asia and walking into a small village on the side of the mountain and you can smell the fire, the smoke & oak moss, the green herbs drying, the sweet incense curly up through the air perfuming your clothes. I am really happy with this one. Totally worth it guys! Take the plunge if you don't want to purchase yet another mass-appealing fragrance with the same old same old DNA. 10 out of 10 for me!

Slightly underwhelming. Good quality scent at a good price. Was hoping for some sexy sk..k in the mix but this is pretty safe. I can see this being unique as it is neither old school powerhouse or new sweet fruit/spice scent. I'm glad I have it. It will be an occasional wear. A wearable weirdo.

I was amazed by a quality and cost, this is my #1 choice
It impossible to be unnoticed wearing this fragrance, behind it stands man by full name Vincent Marcello. Notes are lustful, exotic, as name says alone, its name means a turkish saber.It is unique and as its history goes back in 70s it still has that oppulent but funky patchouli hippy kind vibe. Yes, it is not exspensive, so it is affordable for almost every budget. And i am glad that i bought it and also glad to mention a description by quoting from site "Fragnatica" and it says:" The clinging warm, bold, and sensual scent resembles an extremely rare oriental wood that was used as incense in Hindu homes for centuries. Yatagan's wood notes mixed with subtle undertones of herbs such as galbanum, patchouli, incense, Artemisia and mint make this a perfect fall and wintry scent."

classic old school smell
This cologne reminds me of Macassar from Rochas, the cologne I wore when I was a young adult. It therefore bring me good memories. It might be a little harsh for some people, especially young men who like sweet colognes.

Sometimes worth taking a risk
Went out on a limb to after reading it had a spiced leather smell, and glad I did. I try to use it sparingly for special occasions and not run out out too quickly. Original price is a little steep for those maybe on a budget, but I got it on sale, so that wasn't a problem.

Not your run of the mill cologne. Thats what i like about this one. Its dry and raspy,lots of pine as well as smokey. Lasts a good while on your skin and has a mild projection. This one you wear for your enjoyment,Not for compliments. Hard to find a tester for this one where im from, so it was a blind buy and a good choice.

love it! dry, warm & astringently woody/deep; a walk in a sun-kissed evergreen forest..... timeless and unique. This a fantastic potpourri of tart artemisia, sharp lavender, old school (& very dry patchouli) over a bizarrely sweet-ish leather. This is neither harsh, nor dated. It slowly releases its mystery over many hours and comes to a very satisfying denouement in a pine-amber-leather haze. Really great, and an absolute bargain (esp compared to some of the Amouages & Malles I have....). No doubt: a masterpiece!

I can't quite figure this one out. It is like being in a forest, but not a pine forest. I'm getting hints of spruce and cedar and a bit of smoke from the log cabin on the hill. You will be asked about this fragrance.....in a good way.

Yatagan like a work of art
Yatagan begins with a hot, peppery, herbal liqueur aroma; one detects fast-forward appearances of fennel, basil, petitgrain, lavender and geranium leaves. This burst of aromatic plant aromas leads to a flare-up of artemisia (wormwood). For me, Yatagan is a near-perfect cologne. The wearer smells this delicious scent for over 10 hours but it stays close to the body.

For me it is a smell from my childhood - a horse harness in a workshop in village and fragrant tincture of propolis. Thus the note of fragrant "propolis" plays an important role in Yatagan - it gives a pleasant smell and warmth. Also brown tarry "rosin" is audible. In the basic note Yatagan not rough, but warm and comfortable. On color - it for me "amber". It is However, heavy to name Yatagan "perfume". It is any aromatic tincture. It at all doesn't contain recognized notes from usual perfumery. But it is rather quite good.
