Vintage treasure perfume but not out of fashion. Classic from golden days of perfumery. One of the most elegant and sumptuous perfumes. In my personal opinion, not for girls and very young women. Also, perfect in cold weather. Love it!

Still amazing after all these years
I knew this perfume well decades ago. Many great frags were made in the 1970s and this is one of them. Chypre with oriental aspects, very rich and complex, sensual. I was concerned it may smell completely different now, and while it has probably been reformulated to some degree, as soon as i opened it the unique character was immediately familiar. Yay! Yes as i remembered, fabulous. For sophisitated women and would make a great signature. Wish it came in larger sizes!. FragranceX always delivers, always happy with the service and product.

No information about where the product was produced. The package just says "packed in USA". Ok. Packed. But from where the content came from??? Moreover the containts section that appears on the box does not look very crediyable. Just 3 ingredients. Hard to believe.

I bought it based on reviews hoping that this is the original Jai Ose I know and love. But it is not. Not even a good perfume at all. It is a bad version of a perfume reminding strong smell of original Knowing by Estée Lauder. Don't buy.

This one doesn't stay on my skin. But neither does Paloma Picasso's EDP so it's probably just my skin. This unique fragrance has many of the qualities of late 1970s classic orientals Magie Noire and Cinnabar, but also has the weird balsams of Youth Dew and the smoky/leathery dry down of a Bernard Chant scent (Azuree, etc.). This is nonetheless not a very strong scent.

Took Me 35 Year to Find Again
Received as a high school graduation gift from my granddad in 1974. It disappeared from stores in 1979. I searched every year all over, even when I traveled. When I found it on FragranceX in 2014, I literally cried as it brought back so many memories. I order at least twice a year.

Unfortunately, my shopping experience can not be called the best. For the services of customs and delivery DHL I had to pay an extra 33.81 euros, so your delivery method I absolutely do not fit. Relative to the order, I can say that it is a wonderful packaged, bottle is very beautiful and is identical to the original. Unfortunately, the content of the bottle is very different from the familiar smell of old formula of this perfume

This wonderful, classy perfume reminds me of my childhood. It's not easy to find, and it's probably a bit different from the one I used when I was a kid - nonetheless, it's a very special perfume, and I get lots of compliments every time I wear it.

Bad medicine smell
The Eau de parfum version of new formula Jai Ose is almost offensive, not even a reminder of original scent, strong and smells like some medicine with tar for skin problems. Can't use it at all. The other version Jai Ose- pure parfum I bought a bit earlier was much better, not as subtle as an original formula before reformulations, but wearable and still soft and sexy.

Not as good as the original before reformulation still nice
This scent still reminds me of the old original formula perfume I had in early 90's ( I am not sure if there were some changes to it in 80's), but anything you buy after 1999 will not be the same due to restrictions.This one is still nice, I like it more in half an hour after application. Not for day use, but had interesting comments in the evenings. My husband is not a big lover of strong scents ( and Jai Ose is strong compare to new age scents) but even he finds it very sexy but not in a classic way ( like "dirty dancing" he says)

I love yesterday's perfumes
It is good perfume. I can not tell how different is it compare with old vintage Jai Ose, because I do not remember exactly the old one, which I used to have about 25 years ago. Anyway it is very nice pleasant perfume by itself, which I can use anytime. Does not last very log, which is ok, you can refresh it. The bottle is light and it is easy to carry.

Products not received after 3 weeks wait
Would love to comment on the products, but after waiting over 3 weeks and having both Christmas and my wife's birthday pass without receiving them, well, this request for comments came and to be polite, I am filling it out. I hope they get here before Valentine's day, as I wasn't able to get a substitute birthday gift due to her birthday being New Year's Day and the stores being closed. Maybe next year, I will order in September, so it get's here by January. If I decide she needs it again. Otherwise, there is always Amway Artistry products to buy, that will be there within a week. As noted I could only fill out those areas that reflect current status. Product not received was not listed.

j'ai ose - a gender bender?
on me it is almost the unidentical twin brother of mitsouko. though at the last stage j'ai ose gets a bit more sour than mitsouko and has less sillage and staying power. this perfume is not for girls or even very young women. is has mossy-dusty qualities that turns it to be a serious, cold weather scent. i like its Weirdness, but will not be using it everyday. i can see it becoming a gender bender. thank you fragrancex for the transatlantic ,fast as a lightening, delivery. My first bottle of Jai O'se was a gift from a Belgium friend in 1977. In my opinion Jai O'se is extremely enchanting and irresistible. And to my surprise it smells very much like it did in '77. A timeless fragrance I have never forgotten. Thank you for supplying because it is very difficult to find.

Real French Chic
Jai O'se belongs to the great old school perfumes that will always be a sign of posh life. Somehow this smell creates an aura of "my life can't be any better" around the one who wears it. There are hot debates among perfume addicted people that modern version was reformulated so much that it cannot be called Jai O'se anymore. Many great perfumes were reformulated during last decades and sadly not every reformulation came out well. But not Jai O'se. It is still one of the greatest chypre I know. It smells astonishing!!! Starts sharp and a little bit bitter. For me it is a smell of a new leather shoes, or gloves. Then it develops into a heavenly harmonised scent with a bit of flowers, but mostly oakmoss, cedar and vetiver. It doesn't have overwhelming floral or spicy notes. It has a very noble and outstanding sillage that impossible to forget.

Good quality, not terribly original
A typical mature smell of the classic age of perfumery... which may seem quite a daring choice in these sad days for perfumery. Heavly woody oriental leather chypre, demands to be taken seriously and and sacrifices originality for good-quality respectability. There is not much else to say... Except to try it and see if you can bring it to new life and play with it ironically. The quality is there, the rest is up to the wearer :)
