Classic perfume that doesn't smell old fashioned. This a green iris perfume with no sweetness, which I love. This is an elegant scent, but can be worn in a variety of situations- including work. The very subtle earthiness of moss and vetiver is perfectly balanced with the iris. So, it is not overly green or overly powdery- just beautiful. This will always be one of my top favorite iris scents.

OMG I love this perfume
I am so in love with this fragrance. It arrived today, I have not used it before but I took a chance based on its descriptions on FragranceX and it is divine! I can't stop breathing it in. It somehow combines a natural clean natural scent with more sensual tones. Best news I have had today, thank you.

It snells overpowering when applied but would die down in 3 minutes or so to a powdery smell. I think this perfume is more for the mature women. Classic. Yes. Maybe not my taste.i still prefer gabrielle or cristalle eau vert.

19 is a light classy, romantic, sweet memory of summer.
I use a fresh, just out of the shower sent for daytime. I use #19 when I meet people or go to a special event. It's not overpowering. But a nose will miss it when it's gone. Very elusive, the smell of summer is. All the white flowers comming into bloom at the same time with the smell of the desert mixed in. jasimne, honysuckle and gardenia along with green leaves and dirt and sun. That's what #19 smells like to me.

Not the old iconic scent
I bought a bottle back in June, and I'm not happy at all that the formula has changed. It does not smell at all like the old fragrance that I loved. I'm shocked by how Chanel can get away with this. The old fragrance was wonderful, a truly iconic scent, and they screwed with the formula, and now this new scent just smells like a cheap room spray. Do not buy this if you expect the old fragrance that made this the iconic scent that it was.

My favorite all-time scent
I have been wearing Chanel 19 for over 25 years. My mother wore Chanel #5 for special occasions, but I've never liked it on myself. I also love Christalle for summer. I've tried to wear Chance but something about it does not jibe with my chemistry. I try other fragrances when I'm out shopping and can't wait to wash it off. I wear it daily no matter how casually I'm dressed - I feel naked without it, which is a big problem because you can only find it in Chanel Boutiques now. I'm so glad I found you!

Soap is the safest bet!
Let's face it, when ordering discontinued fragrance, you are getting products that have sat for a loooong time. Since they are no longer manufactured regularly, they tend to lose their appeal. I just don't think they smell like the original because of that. Soap holds it's fragrance best. The Chanel 19 soap is a blast from my past and that is a nice memory.

19th on my to-buy list
I got it for my birthday 5 years ago-it was a tester EDT 100ml(3.3oz).I believe that there are no ugly women nor ugly perfumes.The beauty of a perfume lies in the nose of a smeller,if I may put it this way.With all due respect to the late Ms.Coco Chanel,this fragrance and I simply didn't "click".I find it too green and overpowering and I would recommend it to older women.If I were to make my to-buy list,it would land on the 19th place.
