Ebene Perfume by Pierre Balmain, Released in 1983, Ebene by Pierre Balmain is a bold, aromatic fougere. The fragrance is warm, sensual, dark and bordering on savage. The aroma invokes an image of a motorcyclist clad in leather riding down a long and dusty highway in search of the horizon. The top notes are a complex mixture of aldehydes, juniper berries, basil, mint, artemisia, lemon, bergamot, anise, caraway and thyme. The heart notes are composed of carnation, cinnamon, jasmine, rose, geranium, pine and patchouli. The base notes relax into leather, labdanum, oakmoss, musk, amber and tonka bean.

Pierre Balmain founded his eponymous company in Paris, France. Originally training to be an architect, Balman gave up his studies to instead pursue a career in fashion. The company’s first perfume offering was Elysées 64-83, a reference to his phone number. Currently the company operates 16 monobrand stores and generates an estimated $150 million in revenue a year.
