About Jean Patou

Jean Patou History and background of Jean Patou. Jean Patou was born in Normandy, France, in 1880. Patou's father was a leading tanner (leather maker) and his uncle owned a fur business which Patou joined in 1907. In 1912 Patou opened Maison Parry, a small dressmaking salon in Paris, and sold his entire 1914 collection to one American buyer. I was excited to receive the small pretty compact of Sublime solid perfume because I had bought it before and knew how sensual and beautiful a form of Sublime perfume the solid is. Jean Patou is a famous perfume house (the creators of Joy) and it's creations are truly classy and classic. The gold compact is topped with a crystal cabochon that captures light and makes rainbow colors within. But opening the compact and smelling that deliciously unforgettable fragrance that is Sublime in solid form is the real gift!

Because Sublime in the solid form is not a spray but a solid there is no sting of alcohol only soft, delicious and rich fragrance to smooth on with my finger. The solid form of Sublime is both richer and more subtle and personal. I will use it when anticipating a romantic evening with my boyfriend because in it's creamy solid form it's an intimate up close perfume that blends with the natural scent of my hair and skin more perfectly than any other perfume I have ever used! This is probably because only the finest natural ingredients are used to create the perfumes of Jean Patou and in Sublime. Even the description of noble and rare ingredients sent with the compact is pretty sounding.

This perfume is so addictively beautiful yet soft and personal that I apply it to the nape of my neck and at pulse points just because..just for myself because it makes me happy. The scent on my skin and clothes hours later is warm, powdery floral and distinctive.

Sublime is a very feminine grown-up scent, nothing frilly or silly about it. There really are no "cons" to Sublime for me. It is my all time favorite perfume since I first started using it in the mid nineties and the rich, elegant yet subtle solid is a must have form of Sublime!

Ok for the price

The sliding crystal top broke off when I attemped to use if for the first time. Other than that, I get GREAT compliments on the scent.

    After using this product before I thought it would come in the round bottle as per above picture with etched label on bottom instead of stick on label.
    I hadn't seen the rectangle shape before. The round shape holds nicely in your hand.

        The aroma as checked above lingers on my clothing. I have not noticed that it stains clothing either those that are washed in water or sent to the dry cleaner.

        Since Sublime has been on the market for many years and I continue to re-order it, I think that in itself speaks volumes.
