for Mauboussin, it feels like Christine Nagel chose only materials that were just past ripe but not quite rotten. the peaches, plums, and mandarin oranges seem to have been laid on a radiator for a few days to stew. the roses, jasmine, and ylang ylang were left to decay into potpourri and sugar. all of the sharp, dank smell of the wood and incense mellowed away. Only the amber and vanilla feel fresh and vibrant.

it's a wintery perfume that would blend well with roaring fires, men smoking pipes, and polished wood paneling.

i love it! enough said :-D

I feel sexy when I wear this scent, I always get compliments. Especially from men. You only need a little because it's quite strong. I bought this looking for something different, so glad I did. Will definitely put this on my reorder list.

    This chypre is a complex of fruity, sensual notes on me, with a long rich, spicy drydown. I agree with others who say you should spray the air and walk through the mist, because it can be powerful, especially in summer. Probably it's best as a winter scent to wear with leather and wool.
    It is very long-lasting and glamorous.
    A very worthwhile purchase from fragranceX.

      This is the fourth perfume I have purchased from Fragrance X on a whim and I have not been let down yet. Very nice smelling perfume. More on the woodsy/spicy/earthy side. If you like Angel by Thierry Mugler, you will like this one.
