About Halston

Halston History and background of Halston. Roy Halston Frowick was born in Des Moines, Iowa, USA, on 23rd April 1932. He attended the University of Indiana and the Chicago Institute. While still studying, he was designing and selling hats. In 1953, he opened a millinery salon in a Chicago hotel, where his clientele included film actresses Gloria Swanson and Deborah Kerr.     Halston Courture is a "love it or hate it" frag, not fo the faint hearted...a Chypre Bomb" that is more woody and earthy than floral. It could easily be worn by a man, or a strong woman that really wants to make a statement. A great frag for women that do not like a really sweet, girly-girl floral. I would give it 5 stars if it had a a few more floral notes to sweeten it a bit. I blend this scent with Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose EDT to cut some of the smokier notes of Courture. THIS HAS NO RESEMBLANCE to Halston's namesake fragrance. If you love Clinique's Aromatics Elixer, you will love this one.

    I have loved this fragrance for many years [...] I was excited to finally find it here [...] I find that the scent though still beautiful, is not as long lasting as it used to be, seems they diluted it a bit. It's still a pretty scent but it only lasts for maybe, half a day.
