This scent was designed by perfumer, Christine Nagel, for the French company, Mauboussin. J. Noury and M. Rocher founded the design company in 1827 as a jewelry company. The company evolved over the decades, through war and changing tastes, using what materials it could to continue its business. The resilience of the company and its refusal to quit, led it to greatness. The company experimented with perfume for the first time in 2000 and found success there too. The company now has 25 perfumes for sale and continues to grow and adapt with the times. All products are original, authentic name brands. We do not sell knockoffs or imitations.

Love at first sniff
It was a blind purchase, and I fell in love with this scent at first sniff. It is incredibly beautiful fragrance, well-balanced, ideally rounded. It reminds me a little Feminite du Bois by Shiseido, they are for me like two sides of the same coin - but FdB is it`s dark, nocturnal side, and HdE is pure shining light. Where FdB disturbs and causes anxiety, HdE is soothes and comforts. I love them both but Histoire d`Eau is much more wearable for me.

seriously underrated!
a little goes a looong way - so don't overuse, or you might seem tacky. otherwise there is nothing to complain - at least if you like particular spicy, cardamon heavy, orientals that have to be worn with confidence. I myself can't stop smelling my wrist right now. It's an autumn/winter scent so I have to wait to wear this ;( Fragrance itself: cardamon, a teeny bit of flowers, amber, incense. gorgeous! and the price of you too! in the line of: cdg 21, alex mcQueen - kingdom, cdg 888, coco chanel,...

Stunning surprise
Very original, rich , powerful, sweet with forrest fruits accents. I can detect some gingerbread notes.

vibrant amber
Warm and spicy, with ambery and animal notes. Powerful, but still comfortable. I used two 75ml bottles of this and still - I'm not bored. Unique and rare. BUT - watch out! The atomizer is very often lose or does not twist properly, so perfume may leak out of the bottle.

a small misunderstanding
Although it's in the Histoire d'Eau section, it should belong to Mauboussin line - the little pyramids. Apart from that, it smells great and lasts for quite a long time. May be too weak for dry skin, but occassionally it works just fine.

Great for a Present
Puchased this as a present for my mum. Having not smelt this before I thought I would risk it as Fragrancex always gives excellent descriptions of their products. Success! My mum loves it.Excellent value for money - as always - and I will definitely purchase again. This perfume is a safe choice as it is rare and not overpowering.
