Marcel Rochas found his namesake company in France in 1925. With beginnings in contemporary women’s fashion, the company moved into fragrances by 1934. The classic perfume, Femme, was launched by the company in 1943 and is a top selling fragrance to this day. Marcel’s wife, Helene, took over the company after his death in 1955. She successfully shepherded the organization to great success before selling it in the early 1970s.
