About Yves Saint Laurent
History and background of Yves Saint Laurent. Born in 1936, Yves Saint Laurent grew up in Oran, Algeria. At 17, he left for Paris where he showed his drawings to Michel de Brunhoff, director of Vogue, who published several of them immediately. Following a stint at fashion school, Saint Laurent was introduced to Christian Dior by de Brunhoff and he went on to work for Dior until his death in 1957.

This is my all time favorite scent. For years I did not know that the name had changed from "Champagne" which made it hard for me to find. I think the new name is sort of cumbersome and doesn't evoke any thoughts. I would have gone with something more translatable.
This is a strong classic scent along the lines of Chanel No. 5. It smells unique, warm, sexy and not really like anything else you can put a name to.

I nursed my last bottle of this for ages and was never able to find it again. Don't care for the changed bottle and addition of red, but as long as it's the same fragrance I am over the moon to find it now. I even wear it when I feel down just to buck me up.
