Ada Masotti was born in Bologna, Italy. She began her career by making corsets, from satin and lace, in her family home and selling them to local shop owners. She then founded La Perla, ‘the pearl’, with her husband in 1954, and a lingerie empire was born. The company also created a swimwear line and a bridal range as well as launching its fragrances across the globe. It was also a pioneer in encouraging women to wear underwear on display, not just under clothing. All products are original, authentic name brands. We do not sell knockoffs or imitations.

So so sad 😪 I can't get this anymore!
I have used this perfume all my adult life and I still can't believe they have stopped making this, I'm using my last bottle as we speak but as the days pass I am getting scared as when its gone what will I do? I never thought I would feel so heartbroken 💔 about a perfume but I am..please please please can we get some sort of petition up to get them making it again..come on girls who's with me?

IN THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES WE NEED TO KEEP SOMETHING OF THE PAST THAT WAS GOOD & RELIABLE TO HOLD ON TO. PLEASE DO NOT DISCONTINUE THIS PERFUME IT IS UNIQUE. La Perla
I have used this perfum since it first came out. At that time you could only get it in Italy. A friend bought it back for me as a present. Since then it has been my signature perfume. I use it daily, even if I'm not going out. People comment on it a lot. Other people I know have bought it too. It's is a good price on here, much more from a store. I do not have anything negative about it.

La Perla is an elegant perfume for all occasions, it isn't overbearing. It reminds a little bit Paloma Picasso, but is friendlier: softer and warmer than the PP. It is better suited for colder weather.

What's happened?
Used to love this product when in the old packaging. Lasted all day and drew compliments. Delighted to find it on line and hoped the new packaging would not mean any other changes. Well, apart from the first 10 minutes I couldn't smell anything and even put another perfume on the other arm to check. Confirmed my feeling that it's just not the same product. I loved the other, but not this one. Such a shame......

Beautiful long lasting EDP,absolute bargain until it arrived in England and I had to pay £17 import duty,which I was not expecting For anyone in the US just look and if it's not for a gift have a tester,saves you a lot of money

Perfume great - delivery terrible
I have ordered this perfume many times and there was nothing wrong with the perfume - when I finally got it. I had the worst possible experience this time as I had to pay a further £15 on top of the £10 odd postage already paid and still didn't receive it until several weeks later after various e mails and phone calls back and forth. Very unhappy, I was told by e mail that it was because our government sometimes makes this extra demand. Poppycock! The courier said it had been labelled incorrectly as software, THAT'S why customs charged more! Because of this terrible mix up I wont be ordering from you again. What a shame it couldn't be resolved with a bit of customer care.

DUTY payable on purchases shipped to the UK charged at 40%
The company were advertising a 15% Discount + FREE Shipping but only ONE was applied. The adverts (there were several)clearly stated + which implies AND not OR. Since the ordering system would only let me have ONE I opted for the FREE SHIPPING since this was more than the value of the discount but there was a minimum threshold before this to be applied. At that point it was still good value but when the order arrived in the UK I had to pay a £19 charge (DUTY @ 40% despite the company saying there would be no tax to pay) before DHL would deliver it. So NOT quite such good value now ! Glad I didn't order anything else because the other items I was considering buying would have worked out much MORE expensive. Whilst the company acknowledged receipt of my emails they never responded to any queries once the initial purchase had been entered on the system.

The old La Perla was beautiful even up until 2 years ago but this bottle was so bad I didn't even give it away I put it in the garbage. Perhaps it was off I don't know.

La Perla - a most luxurious perfume
I find it very difficult to fault La Perla. It is not given enough credit and in a way that's great! Then the supplier would be out of stock and everyone would be wearing it!! If you like the sensual woody tones that are not too overpowering this perfume is for you. It is subtle yet fragrant and draws lots of compliments. I love wearing the perfume, I use it up too quickly, it definitely trumps all my other fragrances. 10/10.

This is my favourite perfume
This is the perfume for me as no money else I know wears it. So often I would wear a perfume and then a friend would wear the same. Only downside is la Perla have changed the shape of the bottle and it is harder to handle. Needs two hands which is hard for people with arthritis. I would so love the old bottle back.

I have been using since launched in1986 and have always got many compliments on the smell on my body as great and will always wear it forever and I'm now69 years old so that tells you how many years I've been given compliments on the smell.!!! Thank you for selling it. Great price .I use La Perla dailyand my favorite is eau de parfum.everytime I wear it someone gives me compliments on woody fesh smell pcking up my body odor and liking the aroma.

Difficult shape
I have worn this fragrance for many years and it is my signature. The problem I now find since the shape of the bottle has changed to make it more aesthetically pleasing means that it is not so practical to use. Also this bottle is now only 80 mls and not 100mls as previiously but the price is the same. However I will continue to use it as buying it from Fragrance X is still good value

Subtle.Sweet. My go-to 'secret' perfume!
This is my 'secret' scent. I wear it for ME! But get more compliments from men than anything else. And have had women 4 times ask what scent it is. Do I tell them? no way. I say I make it myself. No way I want anyone else to have La Perla. Just a classic subtle fragrance :)

Wonderful Fragrance
This has been my signature fragrance for years, it has a wonderful sillage and lasts for hours, people are always asking me what I am wearing. I prefer the EDT to the EDP for some reason. I don't like the 'restyle'/new shape bottle as the lid is hard to get on and off plus it is too bulky for carrying in my handbag so it is great that I can still buy the original/old style very elegant frosted glass bottles on this website- I will definitely reorder!
