This is the only fragrance I have used since trying it in the 80's. I still recieve compliments all the time. "You smell good"I Have never found anything that I like more than this.

If I get the "original Ivoire" it will be fantastic!
If you can get the "Original Ivoire" (as the picture) it will be great and I would buy as many as you can get. I am missing that fragance! It is a clean frangance! I have not been able to get for a very long time. Once, I ordered (I don't remember from whom) and they had the same name,but a different perfume. I was very dissappointed. I hope this time, I will get the black and gold box with the right fragance. Maria.

Changed Ivoire
Have been wearing Ivoire for decades and have not been able to find it in the UK for a while but thanks to FragranceX.com have still been able to get it. Alas not any more. Like all the other reviewers, thought it was just new packaging. No, it isn't. It's a new fragrance as well. Was so annoyed that I phoned Balmain in Paris and they admitted it had changed. So why not call it something else instead of upsetting everyone? The "new" one is okay but it is not Ivoire.

This perfume I have used daily for over 30 years!
This is the best perfume ever. I have used it daily since 1980!!! A must have! I continue to get complimented on my scent... fresh and floral but not overbearing! People constantly ask me what perfume I am using... I have never received one bad remark about the scent. Even in a "no scent" area, I just say "If you are offended by my odour, you are standing or sitting too close to me." Often the remark is "you smell so great"!

Clean laundry fresh!
This is the smell of fresh laundry, starts with soft Rose and after it softens with woodsy notes. Very nice to wear daily, not strong, like clean fresh air. I love it, was a blind buy but it is lovely!!!

Pretty & feminine
To me Ivoire does not smell like soap like so many reviewers have said. It smells more like a classic perfume such as Chanel No. 5. It's very long lasting but not overpowering. It's a green floral that would be good for everyday use.

It's a Keeper
There's vetiver, a light raspberry rose and the finest of soaps. The dry down and departure from the skin is gradual, a lovely day time fragrance that you can apply early in the morning. There is a nod to the original Ivoire in the composition but it is a complete reinterpretation, so devotees of the old Ivoire might be disappointed. I will re purchase this one.

The manufacturer not only changed the package but also the fragance. The new one is not even close to the original Ivoire. Very sad!

Ivoire de Balmain spray parfum way weakwer than the cologne
Sorry to say Ivoire de Balmain parfum spray was non-exietant 5 minutes after use. This was very puzzeling because I have used the cologne for years and it always remains. I have had men stop me on the street to say I smelled wonderful andask what I was wearing. Not with the perfume that I returned. I did notice the the lettering on the perfume was different than the lettering on my cologne. Cologne has double line lettering and a striped box - not so perfume.

Sweet woody floral
The beginning is citrous and could be a bit heavy, but in 20 minutes one splash turns into lovely soapy floral, very gentle. Two splashes are rather woody, than soapy, with patchouli and vanilla. Great in the wind, lasting power is about 8 hours. Perfect for everyday use.

Ivorie de Balmain
Unfortunately, the box and title of the parfume is showing Ivorie de Balmain, but if you look at the larger picture of the bottle that you would purchase, it is not the original Ivorie. If you do not have the bottle with the word de in the title it is not the original, I did purchase and am not happy at all. I did not look close enough and I recieved the Ivorie Balmain, two totally different parfumes. But it is all most impossible to find the original, be careful and read everything!

It's a beautiful perfume
Ivoire is beautiful ultra feminine , soft and strong at the same time. Feels creamy vanilla, but not loud, more like a shadow.

Top, middle and base notes of old lady!
This is nothing like the iconic frag it replaces I know because I've worn it for 32 years. It is unremarkable, uninspired and pedestrian. It smells like an old lady and I am an old lady. It you want something unique and a frag you can love don't pick this one.

trying to save this for special is too hard - just want to keep smelling it, or of it. I had the original 25 odd years ago and was curious about the new version. its softer but still has impact. love it!

Initially disappointed ultimately please
Daughter quite happy with the outcome , me I feel I would be better off shopping in store in future and knowing what I PAY FOR IS WHAT I GET. Your service and delivery were excellent Your Ad showed the old Box for Ivore De Balmain by Pierre Balmain it did say new packaging-Tester in brackets but I received Ivoire Balmain and a different fragrant smell. As I said it did not go to waste as the Daughter inhabits a different generation and she was not looking for a specific item. Please change your advertising to reflect the true situation with Ivore.

new package,new frangance not the same!
I loved the old Ivoire! The new one does not have the same fragrance. It is not bad, but not what I like. They should never named the new one with the same name of the old Ivoire! It is confusing and I now have to bottles that I don't know what to do with them! I was expecting a new package, but the same fragrance! Mantonia

Huge Disappointment
I recommended to my sister some 15 yrs ago Ivoire de Balmain. I knew it would suit her and I was right. She has been wearing it since. It didn't suit me back then but on a recent visit to her in another city I tried it and amazingly, it was perfect now on me too! She last bought a very large bottle 4 yrs ago which is what I tried. In receiving my order today, I immediately noticed the colour was much paler than my sister's. Once I lightly sprayed it, I immediately knew that the formula was very different from my sister's. The top notes of this 'stuff' are ghastly and choking, just horrible. Never will I wear this hideous stuff. Best used as a basement or cat litter spray, certainly never on my person.

This fragrance is a new interpretation by Michel Almairac and Jacques Fiori of the 1980 Ivoire. This is Ivoire 2012 in a stunning Chanel type bottle. The original integrity is retained whilst offering a delightful opening of top notes. It is aldehydic, fresh, powdery and soapy but the core of floral notes with musk is delightful. Top Marks for the fragrance and top service to FX as always

Beautiful and elegant!
Original and interesting. Lovely fragrance. This classic but dnovremenno and green and floral, and spetsievy, but amazingly beautiful match. Ivory - always attribute subtlety and elegance.

one of the most potent elixirs ever!
i originally bought this for myself since i wanted it back in the late 80s but it was too expensive then...this time although i loved it on me my sister told me that it really doesnt suit me so i gave it to a friend...shes so much in love with it that she made me order it for her again ...shes made it her signature fragrance....i think that says it all....

I have been wearing this scent for over 20 years. I love it for many reasons - It's elegant, feminine, light but long lasting and most of all rare.
