Having used this perfume for some 40 years found that the fragrance did not last as it used to and surprisingly, the writing/labeling peeled off the bottle and it did not come sealed.

I use the eau du parfum after my shower in the morning and I can still smell it the next morning when the hot water from the shower hits my skin.
Now that's what I call a good perfume! I have used it for over 30 years--I have used other perfumes which are lovely but none equals my favourite!!

Most tasteful use of civet in a fragrance. Not too harsh and fecal but definitely there, making the incense in the base richer. Not too sweet, slightly powdery in the topnotes but settles down to a gorgeous fragrance.

I remember years ago when my mother purchased small vials of the "Worlds Greatest Perfumes". These vials were nothing more than (very potent)
fakes of Bal a Versailles, Chanel No5 and others. One of the fragrances that impressed me was Bal a Versailles.

I wear this fragrance whenever I want to. I don't believe in fragrances for day, and fragrances for evening.

What I like about Bal a Versailles is it's powdery soft, spicy sweetness - A very classy scent!

I think the fragrance would last longer if layered with the same bath oil and body cream. It's a bit too subtle for me - could be my body chemistry. I mix Bal a Versailles with Chanel No5 for a sexy longer lasting fragrance.
