I did not like it when I first smelt it at the store!!! I found it too overpowering!!! But the lady at the counter told me to try it out when I am at home (REASON: the department store would not give me a good idea about the perfume, as there were others trying out their choices), she was kind enough to give me a free vial sample! I was however not so convinced, just like as many other women like me, who do not approve of this fragrance at first, brushing it aside as too strong!!

I went to this wedding party only to smell it on one of my acquaintances, who was wearing it, but I failed to believe that it was ANGEL when she told me that it indeed was ANGEL, and it smelt so alluringly great!!!

I went home and tried out the sample on my wrist and let it sink in for a while. Lo and behold, it smelt so absolutely classy!!! I wanted to 'bitchslap' myself for not getting it before!!!

Well, I started with wearing Happy by Clinique, and I was so much in love with that fragrance that I would want to compare all new fragrances I tried out at the store to be similar to that, no wonder I turned down ANGEL at first, and now I cannot live without it!!!

HELL YES, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel attractive and sophisticated!! Well, you have reason enough to, ANGEL is the only fragrance that knocked off Chanel No. 5 from the No.1 spot!!!!!

About Thierry Mugler's Angel - there is nothing to do with angels. My opinion is that the name and the box of this perfume are feloniously misleading. I would never ever even smell it at store! I asked my lecturer whos smell I couldn't inhale enough what perfume she was wearing. So I bought it for myself from FragranceX. It is erotic, kind of heavy and very feminine. It is a great perfume for seducing my husband - works every time:)

Originally received as a gift, now I would not be without Angel. A little too much for the summer, but I love it on cold fall and winter days. Angel gets great reviews from others, but not from me. On me it smells like RAID, the bug spray - or "Brut", the men's cologne of the 60's. It is sticky sweet - and overpowering. I was looking for the vanilla/chocolate/caramel notes that its advertised to have - I sure didn't smell any vanilla, chocolate or caramel! I did buy an unboxed product, so I paid less, but I was still very disappointed. Don't believe the hype and buy a sample if you must check this scent for yourself. It may smell different on you.

I sprayed this on and left the store, as I always do to test our compatability, but I didn't get far. I had to have it. I'd never found my signature scent, I'm just too capricious and I like that, I don't want to be tied down. But I've met my match. If I could only own one perfume, this would be it. I am most selective regarding my perfume.
I have one for all occasions, one for summer only, one especially for winter and Origens Ginger for sporting about. However, Angel IS SPECIAL and fits all of my special times. I would advise Angel for the sophisticated woman. 35 and older! The woman who knows WHAT she wants and HOW to get it!
The best way to test a perfume is:1) Go with no fragrance on. 2) Pick out 3 that your senses tell you "That's who I AM! 3) Put a small spray on the wrist.. walk around for 5-10 minutes...ask a gentleman or another very shiek female what they think... I always ask a man and they will usually tell the truth with their eyes and a smile!

At first I couldn't stand this smell but after I became familiar with its dark chocolate scent, I began to fall in love with it! It is not for everyone but it sure grew on me and it will for you too! Very chocolaty!
