When it comes to gifts, you can’t go wrong with giving a fragrance. Everyone wants to smell good. However, giving a fragrance you created by hand is the perfect way to show someone how much you appreciate them, especially for wedding party gifts and favors!

One of our favorite gift ideas to make is a DIY roller perfume. Made of just blended essential oils and a bottle, rollerball fragrances are a fun, natural way to smell good and are easy to make in bulk for wedding gifts. They also provide aromatherapy benefits, from instilling positive thoughts to soothing pain and soreness.

We’ll go over how to put together your own essential oil roller bottle and share some of our favorite recipe blends!

How to Make an Essential Oil Roller Bottle

All it takes to craft your own roller fragrance is a few base ingredients that you can mix and match based on your desired scent and effect. The recipe calls for:

  • A 10 mL empty roller bottle
  • Essential oils of your choice (generally 12-25 drops)
  • A carrier oil of your choice (e.g. coconut oil, jojoba oil, or sweet almond oil)
  • Droppers (optional)

First, you’ll mix a few drops of your favorite essential oils into the bottle and top it off with the carrier oil to help dilute the concentration. Then, it’s as simple as snapping on the ball, shaking the ingredients, and sprucing it up with a cute label and bow.
