First Instinct Cologne By Abercrombie & Fitch for Men

31
First Instinct Cologne by Abercrombie & Fitch, Created in 2016 by Phillippe Romano for Abercrombie & Fitch, First Instinct is an oriental-inspired fougère for the man with the confidence and strength to be vulnerable. The fresh, crisp top notes of a gin-and-tonic accord combined with melon are sweetened and spiced by middle notes of violet leaves, citrus, and Szechuan pepper, and then warmed by animalic base notes of suede, musk, and amber.

Born in Grasse, France—and himself the son of a
perfume maker—Phillippe Romano is a perfumer for the fragrance house Drom, where he developed 08 Seylon for Odin, as well as fragrances for Anna Sui, Lalique, and others. His motto is, "Patience and Passion."

With moderate longevity, and its gin-and-tonic accord evoking cocktail hour, First Instinct is most suitable for daytime and early evening. Its sillage is assertive but not aggressive, and its cool, citrusy elements, with a hint of oriental spice, are most appropriate for spring and summer. All products are original, authentic name brands. We do not sell knockoffs or imitations.

Hey everyone, Justin here and today I'll be talking about Abercrombie and Fitch's 2016 fragrance First Instinct. Ozonic, aquatic and musky, this fragrance aims to combine fougere and spicy notes into a scent with worldwide appeal according to perfumer Philippe Romano. The top notes are gin, tonic water, and cantaloupe. Now, these transition into middle notes of Sichuan pepper, violet leaves, and citrus. And the scent dries down into a rich suede musk and amber. Now this definitely is not one to miss. OK, guys, that's all for today. Don't forget to follow FragranceX on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. Likely will smell better on someone else

In the bottle, this stuff smells amazing, but within a few minutes of being on my skin, the pepper drowns out any other scents in the fragrance, making for a pretty harsh accord. This isn't to say that the scent is all around bad, it's just bad on me. I gave it to a friend who wanted to try it, and

he had a completely different experience; the melon stuck around far longer, and the pepper worked in tandem with the other notes wonderfully. It's a great fragrance… for someone else.

Forgettable

This is about as forgettable of a scent you can get. Nothing 'wows' me. Just a meh fragrance. Not bad, but not great, just meh. When I reach for this it's because I have hopes that this fragrances has somehow transformed into something mind blowing. Meh...

Bottom Line

No, I would not recommend to a friend.
