Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer who launched his fashion business in Tokyo in 1970. He is known for clothing designs that are
technology-driven as well as his fragrances. The firm’s design sensibility revolves around movement and change. Like many fashion designers, the design house launched a line of perfumes. The first fragrance was L’eau d’Issey for women in 1992. Every year since 2007, the company has offered a fragrance for a limited time only that was developed by a guest perfumer. The fragrance house has collaborated with exceptionally talented perfumers, including Daphne Bugey, Alberto Morillas and Loc Dong. History and background of Issey Miyake. Issey Miyake was born in Hiroshima in 1938. After studying graphics arts in Tokyo’s Tama Art University, he decided to later study fashion design at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.
