A superior shaving soap!

Last year I had originally purchased a TABAC soap puck from a shaving supply vender along with other shaving equipment (razor and a brush). I had been reading about it on the Shave Forums. I had wanted to try it.

I have found that TABAC is a superior shave soap once you learn how to load the shaving brush with enough soap. The soap is milled hard and lasts along time. That hardness means you need to take time to soften the soap before making your shave cream from it.

I put hot water in the TABAC soap bowl and let it soak for a few minutes while I am preping my face to shave. Once the soap is softened, I use a boar or badger brush that has very little water in it and load the brush for a minute or so. Once the brush is loaded then you can apply it to your face for a face lather (with extra water added) or use a lather bowl to build the shave cream. The goal is to make a cream out of the soap.

I believe that TABAC is a great product and seems to be a favorite of Shave Forum members from, Badger and Blade, Shave My Face and the ShaveDen. See their websites for additional reveiws. I am a member of all three forums.

I bought this blindly based on the review. It has nice smell but I think this cologne is for evening use. Strong smell at first then gradually soften into nice floral smell hence if you thinking getting a gift for your father or grandpa, this will do nicely.
