Gomma Etro Cologne by Etro, Gomma Etro is an intriguing offering designed for both men and women. The unisex formula is a decadent mix of floral and woody notes. You are initially greeted with soft lavender, citrusy based bergamot, and lemon tarragon.
Those sweet top notes are perfectly balanced with the bitterness of artemisia. Soothing jasmine, sensuous Ylang-ylang, and warm, spiced cloves harmoniously linger on the skin, leaving an air of mystery and seduction as the heart notes revel themselves. The base of the fragrance is rooted in earthy, woody tones. The clean, snap of birch contrasts with the creamy and smooth sandalwood notes. The intoxicating musk of patchouli and trademark scent of leather round out the profile.
Etro, an Italian fashion company, started its journey in textiles and became known for its signature use of paisley in its creations. In 1984, the company delved into items made of leather and moved on to fragrances where it utilized the scents of leather as a base to several products. Although Etro markets Gomma as unisex fragrance, I find it very masculine. It starts with leather note and burnt rubber note (the latter note would be found a bit unpleasant at first but fades out within 30 minutes). Gomma is a very beautiful leather and flowery scent , it is very close to Knize Ten but less dry, and more flower oriented. Excellent longevity and pretty good projection on my skin. If Knize Ten is too hard to find, take Gomma as a substitute.
