A clear flower-shaped flacon with a silver atomizer and decorative cap allows the pale purple hue of this fragrance to be appreciated. The outer carton bears the name of the scent and series printed over representations of violet blossoms and is emblazoned with Mugler's signature near the base.
Thierry Mugler is a fashion designer and photographer who launched his first fragrance, Angel, in 1992, followed by the cologne A*Men in 1996. He is known for incorporating gourmand or savory elements into his scents. Many of his fashions and fragrance bottles feature fantastical elements and futuristic designs. Vivacious Violets
Angel Violet is number four in the flower family, the others being Rose, Peony, and Lily. Violet announces her membership of the Angel clan by her heavy chocolate vanilla scents over-laid by the deeper notes of patchouli interlaced with signature floral violets top notes. So I give you Angel Violet. Angel Violet was launched in 2005, created by the nose of Francoise Caron for the house of Thierry Mugler. All the Angel scents have been incredibly successful but (and it does appear to be quite a big but) they are rather capricious in whether they suit you, being something to do with acidity levels of the skin. What smells gorgeous in the bottle smells vile when you wear it, nothing personal just chemistry. Normally I dislike patchouli finding it "dusty" smelling, reminding me of all the horrid afghan coats and bad beads we wore in the late 60's but this perfume seems to overcome even that. Wait for dry-down and Violet mellows out to a sweet long-lasting distinctly floral violet scent. Some may find Violet to be possessed of an overpowering sugariness but perfume notes are all in the skin and nose of the individual. My advice: ALWAYS TRY before you buy....... All the Angels draw comment, men tend to say you smell delicious.. Women either ask what is that lovely smell or is it Angel. Generally the Lily evokes the most response but I think it is because it suits my skin best and I tend to wear Violet with my partner. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about Violet other than it can be difficult to find.

Just not for me
I LOVE the smell of violets, but this cologne just didn't smell good on me. It wasn't what I was looking for. Might be a body chemistry thing; I just didn't like the smell.

It's ok.
When I tested this, I couldn't stand the initial blast of floral. So I waited, and waited, but for some reason it never developed (which is unusual for me). My skin kept holding on to a bitter note, violet possibly? While my hubby liked it, I couldn't stand it, so I gave it to my Mom, who adores it. Very few fragrances give me a headache, but this one managed to do so, which is unfortunate because I love just about all of Mugler's frags. It's just ok in my opinion, but only because it didn't work for me. I just bought Angel la Rose which I love and find it easier to wear. Do not blind buy this one; it's too expensive to do so!

smells as good as the bottle looks
Angel Violet smells wonderful, but nothing beats the smell of the original Angel. I always get compliments when I wear either one. Good stuff. Angel has become my signature scent.

Amazing
Very Exotic scent, Thierry Mugler hits a home run again. I spray this on at night before bed because my husband loves it. When I wear it out it makes people ask what I am wearing. Not for daytime use, it is to exotic.

Cute little decorator bottle! Dangerously sharp cap! Smells good, doesn't last very long! Have to keep applying! Expensive for the amount The bottle is only about an inch high!The package came fast and in good condition!

Va-Va-Violet
I love it! Very similar to the original Angel, but with an extra special something. Very long lasting scent. I have seen bad reviews on this one saying it smelled like foul B.O. (body odor)...I disagree. I think the Rose Angel had that smelly armpit vibe to it. It is possible that a spice note used translates as such. I ordered the collector bottle size and while the bottle is a beauty to behold, use caution while holding and using...the star atop the bottle is *very* sharp, definately keep well out of the reach of small children! I would like to try the Peony and/or Lily this way in the future.

Sweet and intoxicating
Very similar to Angel of course, but slightly different and less intense. It's sweet, which I love! I think I'll wear this to work. I may buy the bigger bottle. This came fast from FragranceX - great company!

Amazing Perfume
First bought this on holiday in Lanzarote a couple of years ago as I had not seen it in England. Completely in love with its totally unique perfume. Not overpowering and very feminine. I would wear it on any occasion simply because I love it. People comment on it and ask me what it is. I like the other Angel varieties but Violent Angel is my favourite by a country mile. Buy it you won't be disappointed!!!

PURPLE VEIL
This perfumed lotion is generously endowed with perfume, and the scent lasts all day. It is fine for layering or wearing alone. I have not tried the perfume, and often the fragrance is different in the scented lotions, so I cannot comment on that. However, other reviewers like the peony more than this violet version; I found this fresh and alluring for daily use.

I love love Angel
I sampled Angel Violet when it first came out but I didn't buy it because of the price then I noticed it was not at the counter after a year or so. Having a sample lets me know how to wear it how much and when. It wears long and drys to a delicious fragrance.

this is the best idea ever!!!
The Angel sampler is the best idea ever!!!! It gives you the opportunity to try the exotic Angels without having to buy those expensive bottles of fragrance. The sizes are quite large and you have enough to wear them for a long time I now know that I like them all and will probably buy another sample pack for myself. This is an excellent gift for a true perfume lover. I will buy one for me and one for my perfume loving sister!

An exquisite elixer
This scent will either work with your body chemistry or it will not....the violet essence is VERY noticable, and only those that prefer violet essence should wear it
