History and background of Lanvin. Founded in 1889 at 22, Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré by Jeanne Lanvin (Paris 1867 - 1946), Lanvin is the oldest Parisian fashion house. Arpege seems to have a reputation as an "Old Lady" perfume, but I urge all frag lovers to take another sniff of this perfume classic. I find it very similar to the extremely expensive Chanel #5, at a fraction of the cost. Soft, sensual, spicy and sweet, Arpege is a Man Magnet, sexy scent. Not for a little girl, but a sensual, experienced Woman. My hubby, who HATES perfumes, LOVES Arpege! A true classic

Arpege arrived in a very timely manner. When I opened the box and saw the cute bottle, time seemed to have stood still. It is everything good I remember! Oh, BTW, I am 64 yrs. old. It is a suttle perfume but a lasting one. I love it and always will. My Mom wore this also.
