Johnston & Murphy Cologne by Johnston & Murphy, Johnston & Murphy is a piquant fougere for men. Spicy top notes include bracing black pepper and intensely aromatic cardamom, tempered with the sweet refinement of luscious pear.
Middle notes paradoxically combine hot, sensuous cinnamon with clean, camphorous lavender. The softly pungent leather note at the base pays homage to the maker's roots in shoemaking, and resinous amber creates a cozy, balsamic warmth.
Originally known as the William J. Dudley Shoe Company, Johnston & Murphy was founded in 1850 in Newark, New Jersey, selling high-end, durable shoes for all ages. Dudley partnered with local entrepreneur James Johnston in 1880, and following Dudley's 1881 death, Johnston brought in distinguished Newark businessman William A. Murphy as a new partner. Herbert P. Gleason, a successful salesman with a prescient understanding of the value of branding, bought Murphy's interest in the company in 1895. More than 150 years later, the company has expanded into other leather goods, as well as clothing, hosiery, and luggage. All products are original, authentic name brands. We do not sell knockoffs or imitations.
