The middle notes are: juniper, cedar and tree moss and the base of the fragrance is: pine, musk and amber. Pino sylvestre is recommended for casual daytime use. I first encountered Pino Silvestre in the early 1970s and still have a small quantity from that time. I'm delighted to find it at FragranceX (and that other great Italian classic too - Acqua di Selva - which I've also ordered at a great price!). Both these fragrances, which have much in common, reek of 1950s/60s Italy - Fellini, Visconti, etc; handsome Italian aristos in beautifully tailored suits, gorgeous women - sheer class with a touch of understated decadence. (Incidentally, a woman friend likes Pino Silvestre - as a woman's fragrance!) Thanks, FragranceX - I'm so pleased to be able to buy these timeless products again at excellent prices - and very well packed to survive the trip to the wilds of south west England.

Fresh, ordinarily fresh.
Pine, pine and more pine. This smells very ordinary, definitely not a head turner. Also smells a little outdated, not recommended for under 30.

Imagine being an arborist & chipping pine branches all day long. Take that mulch, add some dirt, blend with alcohol, filter.... and Voila! You now have a dump truck full of Pino Silvestre, and believe me, you'll need that much. This is night #2 that I've filled the tub & bathed in this stuff. I only bought 2 bottles, however, I'll be putting another order in shortly & stock-piling PS right next to my plaid shirt & chainsaw.

I've worn this for years and love the fresh, pinewoods smell. I'd give it 5 stars if it held better. Getting a little spray on your clothing or hair helps it last longer. On the skin alone, it just vanishes too quickly.
