It is truly a classic, not only because it has been sold for sixty years: EL notes are along the lines of fragrances designed in the 1940's - 1970's. At that time, aromachemicals so common today were either not used (for example, food - like essences, like chocolate, vanilla or coffee) or nonexistant. Of course, this can make you think it smells "dated", but it does not: comparissons between the vintage formula and the present one shows EL's actual manufacturer (Dana) reformulated its blend, making it a subtler fragrance, something experts say it makes a better version than the original one.

Be aware that EL is a body splash, so do not expect great sillage and longevity out of it. As an eau de cologne, aromatic compounds account for a total concentration of 3% to 8 %, while in eaux de toilette this concentration is up to 15 %.

EL is an excelent option for those looking after a very manly and classical scent to be applied in generous terms after showering.

    I have been using this product for years, has a great scent I may even call it "stealthy", it is a great value, and not overpowering. My aftershave and cologne do their job for me without making a statement or having others in the workplace commenting on it. e.g. now day's people are sensitive in more ways then one, so companies have human resources write policies prohibiting the use of fragrances in the workplace.
    This product is awesome!

                  I had the other travel bottles (slender ones) they were excellent, but these are too alcoholic and barely have the scent of English Leather's fragrance, maybe my batch was like that I dont know. but I couldnt use it. Sorry!
