About Yves Saint Laurent
History and background of Yves Saint Laurent. Born in 1936, Yves Saint Laurent grew up in Oran, Algeria. At 17, he left for Paris where he showed his drawings to Michel de Brunhoff, director of Vogue, who published several of them immediately. Following a stint at fashion school, Saint Laurent was introduced to Christian Dior by de Brunhoff and he went on to work for Dior until his death in 1957.

Our noses have the uncanny ability to recall scents that we smelled long ago; that is the case with this cologne. Precisely 50 years ago my then boyfriend wore "Duke of Kent," a fragrance that I never forgot, but that has not been available for ages. L'Homme arrived as a sample in the mail and activated instant recall.
It's scent is absolutely sexy. Yesterday I found out the our son wears it too. Obviously it's not just a scent for the older generation.

I use this fragrance for work and evening events whenever I'm in formal attire. This fragrance has a fresh, fruity smell to it and lasts long. Although it might seems a bit strong when first applied, it mellows out after application and has a very pleasant smell. I'm not a huge fan of spicy/woody frgrances so this is easily one of my favourite fragrances.
