Rousse Cologne by Serge Lutens, This spicy, oriental fragrance for men opens with top notes of cinnamon and sweet mandarin. Heart notes comprise the sweet warmth of clove and cinnamon tree wood and tangy freshness from orange, kissed by powdery iris. Woody base notes from resins and cedar mingle with amber’s woody depth while vanilla smooths and sweetens the fragrance. It offers moderate to high longevity with moderate sillage.

The house of Serge Lutens introduced Rousse in 2007. Its founder apprenticed as a hairstylist in Lille, France, and later moved to Paris to work for Vogue as a makeup artist in the 1960s. In 1967 the house of Christian Dior commissioned him to develop a cosmetics line, and by 2000 he established his own company. All of his fragrances have been developed in concert with nose Christopher Sheldrake. Sheldrake trained as an architect but succumbed to the lure of fragrance after traveling to Grasse, France.
