Baime Cologne by Maitre Parfumeur Et Gantier, Herbal and spicy, Baime is a unisex fragrance created by Jean-Francois Laporte for Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier. The fragrance, which launched in 2000, features a variety of aromas, the most prominent including basil, green leaves, lavender and anise. These notes perfectly blend with undertones of thyme, vetiver, caraway, sandalwood, jasmine and a special mixture of exotic fruits. Jean Laporte founded Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier in 1988 when he was inspired by 17th century perfume houses. The name is based upon the title of "Glove and Perfume Master," introduced by the king when scented gloves were a trend. The company regularly releases new fragrances and currently has nearly 50 to its name. Jean-Paul Millet Lage, Laporte's former apprentice, took over as the head of the house in 1997 and has worked with such names as Jeanne-Marie Faugier and Nicolas de Barry since then.
