About Lolita Lempicka

Lolita Lempicka History and background of Lolita Lempicka. Fashion houses are often named after their founding designer, but Josiane Pividal went about it differently. In 1983 Josiane and her husband Joseph, an interior designer, created their label, "Lolita Lempicka", in homage to Nabokov's novel and to the painter Tamara de Lempicka. I first received this as a sample from a big name chain beauty store after an online makeup purchase. I was hooked the first time I spritzed it on; I couldn't stop smelling myself! I would wear it to bed so the scent could carry me off to sleep. Within a week of receiving the sample, I searched for it on fragrancex and bought the 2.7 oz bottle. I love the bottle design, it's an attractive piece on my vanity table. =)
A very complex scent at first, with many different notes; dries down to a sexy, feminine woodsy-sweet smell that isn't sickeningly sweet.
It smells best when first applied, the dry down is subtle; so it doesn't hold too well. But even when it's been hours since I applied, I still get compliments from both men & women .
I don't wear this to work as it's a little too strong for the Veterinarian that I work with (she gets headaches ...very sensitive; but she gets headaches even from super-light body splashes). I tend to wear it mostly during nights out on the town now.
I don't think I'll be wearing it too much this summer, as I predict with the heat & humidity the scent might get too sweet & be overpowering. The initial scent isn't "light" enough for summertime, for me at least. But it'll remain in my fall/winter selection for sure!
I have so many perfumes in my collection but I reach for this one often. I love it, it's so unique!
The chain that I got the original sample from sells it with a hefty price tag; I'll always buy my perfume from fragrancex! It's always the real deal, no imitations; but at extraordinary prices! For a gal like me who likes to have many perfumes in her arsenal (You can call me a perfume addict), fragrancex is heaven-sent! Will definitely always keep a bottle of this on my vanity table, I'll buy it again and again! (Note: I bought the 2.7 oz bottle - a little goes a long way, so it's a great investment. I've had my bottle since March & still have 90%+ left despite MANY many uses!)

    Starts off warmly citrus-vanilla, replaced by a heady wash of immortelle and spices before drying down to a pungent spicy vanilla. The immortelle was stronger than I expected, and fortunately short-lived. The spices are extremely assertive and the dry down is Cinnamon/Vanilla. The musk is behaving itself nicely--not veering towards cheap or sour, which is how musk usually behaves on my skin. Really enjoying the subtle vanilla note, very warm an cozy, perfect for winter season.
