About Yves Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent History and background of Yves Saint Laurent. Born in 1936, Yves Saint Laurent grew up in Oran, Algeria. At 17, he left for Paris where he showed his drawings to Michel de Brunhoff, director of Vogue, who published several of them immediately. Following a stint at fashion school, Saint Laurent was introduced to Christian Dior by de Brunhoff and he went on to work for Dior until his death in 1957. Read more about Yves Saint Laurent

I bought this perfume for my mother last year as a new signature fragrance. She absolutely ADORED it and soon gave up wearing her previous fragrance, CK Euphoria, and wore this one every day. This is now her second 90ml bottle that I have bought for her. It's a gorgeous fragrance, very beautiful and feminine, and works in both Summer or Winter (although I think Winter is best). I believe it could be worn by women of all ages.

Cinema on me is sweet, powdery, fairly pleasant, and inoffensive.It makes me think of trying to drink fresh orange juice whilst my mouth is full of dolly mixture sweets,(not that I've tried.) After a while it fades to a powdery blossom scent with the smell of dolly mixture sweets and candied orange peel lingering in the distance. I quite like it but I don't love it, which I was hoping I would from the reviews I've read. So far my husband hasn't made any negative remarks about Cinema, and he only likes Dolce Vita on me. From reading about the perfume notes in Cinema I wondered if it might be similar in nature to Dolce Vita, but it's completely different. I have to say I won't be buying another bottle though, and I'll only be using it occasionally.
