Molinard History and background of Molinard. Maison MOLINARD, founded in 1849 in Grasse (the birthplace of the worldwide perfume industry) in the Provence region of southern France, has remained an entirely family-run business right through to the present day.           I have 4 different fragrances with a Violet base, but none is quite as lovely as this. Molinard creates only the highest quality perfumes, and this doesn't disappoint. When first applying, it can be a bit strong as it's in the air. As it mixes with my chemistry, it becomes the only warm, deep violet fragrance I've ever experienced, though it's still quite charmingly floral. I can wear this fragrance summer and winter, day and evening. I always get compliments when I wear purple with this fragrance, and it lasts for at least 6 hours. It's in the clothing the next time I wear it! This, my friends, is GREAT value for the money! You won't find any other violet-based fragrance for anywhere near this price!

          I use this scent for day wear. It is light and appropriate for an office setting. The scent is almost too light, and fades rather quickly. It has a good violet smell, but I doubt I'll buy it again.
