About Annick Goutal
History and background of Annick Goutal. Goutal blossomed late, coming to perfume making after a career as a prizewinning pianist and model. She then met a man, separated from him, found herself alone with a baby (her daughter Camille), was diagnosed with breast cancer and married her childhood sweetheart. She went into the skin cream business with a friend and instinctively felt they were missing two things, fragrance and packaging.

Quel Amour is a fragrance for someone who likes very soft floral scents.We can use it every day, even in summer, but if you like strong trace ( "sillage") will be useful reapply it.

It begins with a sharp peach/pomegranet bite and then mellows into a bit of geranium and rose, some of each. But, the final dry down on me atleast is gorgeous peony, as I have not found it in any other perfume. It doesnot last all day as is the usual thing with Annick Goutal perfumes but one can't resist from keep on going back to sniff the perfume at the wrist.
It is in the end a subtle flora fragrance, and above all is unique. The only other which, I think, is better in AG's profile is Le Chevrefeuille. Quel Amour is to peony what Un Matin d'orage is to gardenia; subtle and beautiful.
