By Serge Lutens for Women
Cuir Mauresque Perfume by Serge Lutens, Cuir mauresque stands for moorish leather and a blend of leather is exactly what it smells like . Comments about Cuir Mauresque Perfume:
Leather-based scents are extremely difficult for me to pull off -- not because I dislike them; they simply don't mesh with my personality type. Also, so many tend to smell "rubbery" during the dry-down. Cuir Mauresque won my heart immediately, however. Its a spicy/floral leather, which gives it a softness sorely lacking in similar fragrances. The leather isn't the kind of leather that you smell at the Chanel wallet counter; rather, it's a buttery, creamy, antique leather -- think of a child's glove that's been packed in a cedar chest for many years. CM is less sophisticated, more approachable. It has warmth. The balance is exquisite; I was pleased that many of the heart notes continued to flourish well after the dry-down. Serge Lutens Cuir Mauresque has been compared to Daim Blond, another leather-based fragrance by the same maker, but other than the fact that they're both leather-based, I find them completely dissimilar.
