This product was launched in 1998 by Bvlgari. Perfumer Annick Menardo is the mastermind behind the scent. Bvlgari spans back to 1884. It was founded by the Greek immigrant Sotirios Voulgaris in Italy and gradually grew into a luxury retail powerhouse offering jewelry, watches and handbags. Ladies love it
Ive been using this for over 20 years. Women love it is all i can say. Smells better when youre sweating, it brings the smell out more. I will say it depends who wears it. Maybe different body chemistry works better than others.Either way, try it. Its a very masculine scent. I'd say Leathery & Peppery describes it well.Ill be using it for many more years and will be turning my son onto it when hes old enough

This isn't the right smell, apparently.
I bought this for my boyfriend. It's a scent that's discontinued. I saw this and was super excited because I love the way it smells. He told me immediately when he put it on that it wasn't the right scent. Super disappointed- I spent a lot of money on it for it not to be the right smell.

Wonderful fragrance
I was curious about the rubber note, I wasn't disappointed, the fragrance is a classic men's oriental, without the heavy woods or spice, just lots of interest and as I prefer a fragrance that modulates over time bringing forth new notes to keep it interesting. I understand the components have been reformulated since it's launch, but it's delicious all the same and I think it's a great frag to wear all the time.you won't be sorry.

Very satisfied
I've been using this cologne for quite some time. I've always loved it. I had no idea it's a unisex as I always found it in the men's section, but perhaps that had something to do with getting complimented a few times while on a date though I can't say I can imagine a girl wearing this. First time buying it online and FragranceX has exceeded my expectations. Processed quickly, and it arrived a day early.

This was recommended to me by a person who knew my subtle taste. This would best be described as a spiced vanilla. It goes everywhere and so far does not offend anyone's senses. As long as it is produced, I will wear it.

This has been reformulated into oblivion! No matter how much you spray it's just nonexistent, pity because it used to be fabulous...... I'll avoid it from now on. Fragrancex is fantastic though, I've bought from here a few times and they've never let me down. Recommend them thoroughly!

Beautiful smell but weak longevity and projection
I love the smell of Bvlgari black. It does smell a bit like rubber that's the reason behind the wheel shaped bottle and rubber contour. It is a light rubbery smell with floral and citrusy notes that make it fresh. It is extremely pleasant to my nose but the performance is very poor. I am not sure I will buy more once my bottle is finished.

Better than you would think
I read a lot of reviews and descriptions before I even bought this and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this scent. It has a good staying power and I don't think it's over powering at all. It may be more suitable for cool weather. But it strongly reminds me of Lolita de Lempika for men (purple bottle) which I had years ago. It's a very mellow scent. Not floral or citrus.

I've been a loyal Black user for years. Cant figure out why it was discontinued ?? I have had had so many positive reactions to this scent. It is a really a woman pleaser potent but not overpowering - I will definitely stick by my Black ! johnny

Amazing smell, I have been buying it for 25 years!
This fragrance has always drawn compliments. It is not offensive or overpowering. It is like a gorgeous sexy European man's cologne that has been toned down and adapted for a woman. It is definitely a unisex scent. Interesting, I teach and have had students who are very asthmatic or with lots of allergies who have never had any reaction to this scent.

This fragrance would be good for someone who likes the smell of tires and rubber and tar, things like that. I unfortunately am not one of those people so I hate this fragrance. But, I had heard great things about it and that many people like it so perhaps this rubber smell appeals to some.

Polarizing scent
BB's opening recalls tire rubber but then warms up into a cozy woody vanilla scent with notes of black tea. I quite enjoy wearing it, and love smelling it on my guy.

Best price and only 10 days from US to country Australia :)
Love the fragrance and my first bottle several years ago lasted and lasted - however I think that Bvlgari must have changed the mix somewhat as it's a lighter fragrance nowadays, which doesn't last nearly as long. Having said that, I still like it, I still get compliments and frangrancex supplies at a great price. Very happy with the short delivery time too, consider frangrancex is in America and I live outside a small country town in Australia. In summary, until I find a fragrance I like better, I'll continue to use this one.

Uniqueness of Bvlgari
Great fragrance that can't be obtained easily everywhere. A mysterious leather, black tea and wood blend that will draw compliments. Only counterpart is the lack of projection and not very lasting, so you should spray on your clothes to get some extra permanence. Definetly worh it.

ONE OF THE CLASSICS
IT'S A FRAGRANCE THAT REMINDED ME OF SHALIMAR BUT WITH SUBTLE SMOKE AND RUBBER LIKE NOTES ADDED TO IT. SITUATED SOMEWHERE BETWEEN GUERLAIN'S SHALIMAR AND VOL DE NUIT I THOUGHT. THE BOTTLE IS ALSO IDEAL, WITH IT'S TYRE LIKE BAND ENCIRCLING THE GLASS. IN SOME WAYS, ALMOST A VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF THE FRAGRANCE ITSELF.
