Annick Goutal Perfume & Cologne

The late Annick Goutal founded her fragrance house in 1980 after finding her calling: perfumery. Working with a perfumer to create a new face cream exposed her to the craft and prompted her to change her life's work. The former pianist and model launched her first perfume in 1981 — the iconic Eau D'hadrien. It revealed the brand's distinctive signature: perfumes that favored floral notes balanced with wood and citrus. Later releases proved the brand's versatility and excellent fragrance crafting. It has launched more than 35 scents to date.

Several Annick Goutal perfumes remain popular today. Amber Sauvage Absolute (2015) is a tempting combination of amber and patchouli tempered with rosy pink pepper, lavender and vanilla absolute. Heure Exquise (1984), whose name appropriately translates as "Exceptional Hour," pairs Florentine iris with rich galbanum, sandalwood and Turkish rose. Perhaps the most famous Annick Goutal fragrance of all is Eau D'hadrien (1981), a unisex scent with Sicilian lemon, green tangerine, cypress wood and ylang-ylang.
