History and background of Robert Piguet. Robert Piguet was born in Yverdon, Switzerland in 1901. After training as a banker, Piguet went to Paris in 1918, where he worked with REDFERN and POIRET. He founded his own salon in 1933. He hired or used designs by many famous designers, as well as using his own designs.
