Avant Garde Cologne by Lanvin, An oriental woody fragrance designed to appeal to the modern man, Avant Garde by Lanvin is a masculine, sensual composition introduced in 2011. Top notes open with pink peppercorn, Madagascar pepper, Italian bergamot, and juniper for a decidedly spicy punch. This mellows into softer, romantic heart tones of nutmeg, beeswax, cardamom, and lavender. The dry down is intensely masculine, incisive, and aromatic with base notes of tobacco, benzoin, Georgywood molecule, and vetiver. This is a long-lasting cologne that will take you fro the office to the club. A moderate sillage allows for just the right amount of intimacy.

Jeanne-Marie Lanvin founded her fashion house in 1909, sewing clothing for children. This soon expanded to include menswear, womenswear, furs, and home decor. She launched her perfume line in 1924, creating several classics that are still in production today. Shymala Maisondieu is the nose for Avant Garde. All products are original, authentic name brands. Spicy, sweet, elegant, well dressed.

Just like people have said - it starts off similar to La Nuit de L'homme, but quickly morphs into a spicy sweetness that's supposed to mimic beeswax. Meh. It's more of a zingy vanilla powder. The whole feel is slightly more casual than La Nuit, but also warmer and with greater depth. Personally, I love it as a stand alone fragrance and wear it all the time in colder weather. It's perfect for a well dressed evening out, or for intimate occasions. The value is incredible and even if you don't like it at first, give it some time to grow on you. Longevity is not great so carry a decant.

Great find. Great value.

This scent is intoxicating and beautify. Slightly, mildly spicy, and slightly sweet. This is easy to like and easy to wear on a daily basis. I blind bought this and this is EXACTLY the type of bargain that I was hoping to bag.
