Refreshing, uplifting, refined, masculine and sophisticated
The best description I can give is: energizing, fresh, green, invigorating, inviting, natural, spicy-stimulating, unique, versatile, woody, zesty and very pleasant. One of my favourite scents, definitely signature scent worthy, refined elegance. Good longevity and sillage, goes longer and projects better with a couple of sprays on clothes. For me, a classic and pleasure to wear, love the smell. One of the best stylish gentlemanly scents out there.

It has some similarities on terre d'hermes, the opening will remind you of that Hermes. Only the citrus part is similar but the drydown was different terre d'hermes dry down was much earthy vibe

Grape soda vibes
The opening comes across like grape soda to me & as it dries down I get a lot of sandalwood. Love this scent.

Doing some experiments here...
My third bottle is on the way... i used it for the first time when i bought it from perfumes retailer with full price, it smells fresh and very2 good, long lasting and draw lots of compliments, and then i ordered second bottle from Fragrance X with discounted price... being used to the icon smells, iam quite disappointed with performance of dunhill icon bough from fragrance X, it smells exactly the same, yet only last for an hour or so.. it is just like a watered version of the first bottle i bought from retailer with a full price... maybe it is just my nose... and iam not quiet sure about it... an thats why, i just ordered again from fragrance X for the second time ( third bottle), hopefully when its arrived it will performed better and smells not like a watered version... if it is, i'll bought another bottle from the retailer where i bought the first bottle for comparison.. hopefully i'll not have to do that... i'll write a review when my dunhill icon arrived...

Dior sauvage but elivated
Very strong bergamot / neroli notes. Fresh and clean but still has some depth thanks to its peppery / spicy middle note. Definitely a more mature fragrance.

A major disappointment
Yikes. Great reviews all over the interwebs but wow, I don't agree at all. The scent is overwhelmingly sweet and not pleasant. The only thing iconic about Dunhill Icon is that it joins the ranks of immediate returns. I don't even care if I get my money back, just get this awful fragrance out of my sight.

Must have for the collection!
As a new collector, had to have Dunhill Icon. First off the bottle, easily one of the nicest on the fragrance market. Heavy, sleek, classy looking, perfect for this fragrance. Citrus notes at the head, which quickly give way to the spicy pepper and wood notes. Wouldn't wear this for any occasion, but it is a perfect masculine scent for the office or a formal event. Recommend for evenings/cooler months. Destined to be a classic men's fragrance, but very relevant for today.

Not one of my favorites by Dunhill
I have found that if you apply vaseline or petroleum gel prior to applying a fragrance it holds much longer. I am for the most part pleasantly surprised with this line of fragrances. I am not up to date with the full line of products by Dunhill, with that being said after buying my first bottle of this line years ago before online purchases were a new way to purchase fragrances and you were going into malls and discount malls , at the very least you could sample or get a immediate reaction to if it's a product for you or not. It's not a bad fragrance but had I been able know what it was like I probably would not have chosen this particular item. it's not bad just not for me

Air of sophistication
I don't think I have ever smelled a fragrance that had so much going on. It's a lot, like a LOT. Somehow though it works. All those different elements blend together beautifully. I recommend sampling it before you buy it though.

This smells refined and expensive....safe for anywhere, any occasion. The initial spray is a neroli bomb on me...I love it. The drydown brings out the more woodsy character of the fragrance. Nice and easy to wear!

Sweeter and fruitier than I expected as most reviews described it as a mature scent. It smells good but it does not last on my skin or my clothes. Many claim that it has been reformulated. I can't know for sure but it would explain the disparity in performance between the early reviews and what I am experiencing now.
