A mature sexy smell
This is a perfume I fell in love with in my '20s. It has such an alluring, clean, come to me smell. It's one I only wear on special occasions. But again you're out of stock. So a lot of people must love it.

The product doesn't suit me.
I heard that it smells different on every person so instead of saying the product is bad, I'm going to say that it doesn't suit me. The scent doesn't last long and you only get a very faint whiff of its fragrance. It really isn't overpowering, and maybe to an extent, I'd say it it too weak.

I have worn this scent for forty years off and on.
There's a reason why Chanel No.5 has endured and it is because it has a way of making a statement without being irritating. Each level is well balanced, starting with the bergamot and ylang-ylang combination carrying over the notes of vanilla and sandalwood. There's more to it than these ingredients but the strength of it lies in each note being so well combined that it should be used as a lesson in how to produce perfume. Particularly as in the last decade, the scents have become somewhat acidic with weird burned sugar that never softens. I have tricked a few young women into trying No.5 and they're always surprised when I tell them what it is. I just wish the price was a little more reasonable. I say I'd recommend it to a friend but only if they promise to wear it in another city. I get annoyed when I'm with other women wearing it because I want it to be mine.

I would not order this again
My Mother and my sisters and I wore this fragrance during the 50-60's. we loved it and it was a special gift from our Dad when we could afford it. The last time I ordered some as an adult the fragrance had changed somehow or my chemicals in my skin did. I hear that can happen. I was very disappointed.

I would love to buy this perfume so I put my name on the list to be advised when you had it in stock. Today, I got that news by e-mail...oh, joy!...and went immediately to the site, only to be greeted by "Chanel no. 5" is out of stock. I don't want to cast aspersions on your business practises, but I am thinking that perhaps some people are on a different list, where they are advised early that the perfume will be in stock, OR you receive so little perfume at a time, that it will sell out in 5 minutes. Whatever the case, your customers deserve better information and understanding of how things work at Fragrance X. Sincerely, Scootergirl.

I think I received an old bottle, although I didn't think perfume would lose its fragrance. I was kind of stunned because it is the first time I have bought an expensive bottle, I usually get Eau de Toilette, which has always had the famous Chanel fragrance. Unfortunately this bottle had no fragrance when I opened it, and certainly not the beautiful fragrance I am used to with Chanel. I would like to hear what you think. Can a bottle be on the shelf too long and lose its fragrance? The same thing happened to a bottle of Shalimar I ordered, but when I used it a bit, a little bit more of the fragrance started coming out. Thank you for being interested, Lynn

My favorite fragrance
Chanel#5 has been my favorite fragrance for over 50 years but when I tried to purchase it in stores I couldn't afford it. It is still expensive but at least I could allow myself the price thru this company.
