Preferred Stock Light Cologne by Coty, Preferred Stock Light is a spicy, refreshing and masculine cologne that was released in 1990. It is a variation on the original scent and is lighter than its namesake. The top notes include lavender and cypress, the heart notes consist of clary sage, nutmeg and fir balsam and the base notes are vetiver, oakmoss and leather.

Francois Coty was born in Corsica in 1874. While he was living in Paris he became friends with a pharmacist who made and sold his own perfume. This inspired Francois to create his own fragrance and in 1904 he launched the brand that would take his last name. He was very inventive in business, breaking a bottle of his first perfume on the floor of a department store in Paris, some say on purpose, so that passers-by would smell the scent and demand to know where they could buy it.
