Etienne Aigner had quite the prolific life. Although he was born in Hungary, he moved to Paris in 1926 to pursue a career as a bookbinder. It was here he learned how to handle leather perfectly, and he began selling bags and belts on his own time. He sold to top designers, including Christian Dior. He pursued a career in leather manufacturing in earnest in 1949 by moving to New York. Today, goods under his brand name are sold in over 430 retail shops across the globe.
